Gaertner Cabinet Company uses materials of the highest quality that are perfectly suited to the needs of your project. We are environment-friendly and constantly seek new ways to use "green" products.

WOOD MATERIALS

Some of the woods we use are locally harvested from randomly found fine-caliber fallen trees. We often use veneers as a smart and savvy way to attain the beauty of wood while promoting the wise use of our natural resources.  One tree can be cut into relatively few pieces of lumber but literally hundreds or thousands of thin slices are cut for veneer sheets.  These are glued onto "green" substrate materials like our 100% recovered or recycled, formaldehyde-free core, a material recommended for flush doors by the Architectural Woodwork Institute. Veneer sheets can be book-matched for a uniform look around a furniture piece or an entire room.

Cabinet boxes and drawers are constructed from 3/4" UV-finished furniture grade maple plywood. Many clients opt to upgrade to solid maple dovetail drawers for the highest quality drawer available.

FINISHING

Gaertner finishes and paints can be matched to any color imaginable, or the wood's natural beauty can be sealed in with a clear protective finish. For a smooth, high-quality look, low-VOC finishes are applied using air-assisted high-pressure spray equipment and are sanded between each of the finish coats.
